A-Bones - A tough one to crack

Meaning of A-Bones - The TrashmenGarage rock band from Brooklyn, New York, started by Billy Miller and Miriam Linna, former editorial members of popular cultural magazine Kicks.

The name is derived from a song of the same name by the Trashmen:

'I’ve got a little A-bone like you never have seen
A way-out wailin’ type of boss machine
Top eliminator at all the big name drags
Well she’s stroked and bored and shaved so neat
And sittin’ right next to my bucket seat.’

The exact meaning of A-bone remained unknown to us until one of our readers fixed it (see comments section below):

'An 'A-bone' is 1950s hot rod slang for a hot-rodded Ford Model A.'

Now we can move on again.

Active: 1984-1994; 2004–2009, USA
