Queensrÿche - Tongue twister

Queensryche band name - Tongue twisterHeavy metal band from Bellevue, Washington, officially written as Queensrÿche.

Started as The Mob, until their manager more or less forced them to choose a different name. It was to be Queensrÿche, allegedly inspired by the title of the first song on their demo tape, Queen of the Reich (1981).

It was not so much the band name as it was the y with the two dots that attracted and still attract the attention. As one of the band members later stated: 'The umlaut over the 'y' has haunted us for years. We spent eleven years trying to explain how to pronounce it.'

Active: 1981-present, USA
