Q-Tips - Disposable cosmetics

Q-Tips band name origins - Ear pickingBuilt on the pretty shaky foundations of rock band Streetband, the Q-Tips did not last very long. After three years the white soul band from England gave up; the departure of the man who was to become the most prominent band member, Paul Young, proved to be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back (actually it killed it).

The band did not have much chance anyway, provided as it was with a rather silly band name. Because it refers to those sticks with cotton tips for ear-picking purposes marketed as Q-Tips.

Active:  1979-1982, GBR
