Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy band name origins - The Simpsons - Fallout boyWilmette, Illinois is the home town of these American rockers, who radiate some sort of fusion with the television series The Simpsons. The band had the honour to provide the final number for at least one of the episodes of the 2009 series, Lisa the Drama Queen.

As the band name also refers to The Simpsons (Fall Out Boy is the assistant of Radioactive Man; together the two form a nuclear duo) a certain fascination for the tv series seems obvious.

But that's not entirely true, because the band name more or less got blown into the group’s way.

During one of the first performances, near Chicago, the then still unnamed band invited the audience to come up with a name.

'Fall Out Boy' one of the visitors shouted. That sounded ok to the gentlemen.
