I Mother Earth

I Mother Earth band name origins - pagan-goddess-mother-earthOriginally called IME - which can be read as I Am Me – these Toronto-based alternative rockers changed their band name into I Mother Earth, reportedly with the sole motive that the three letters had to stand for something.

Fans based all kinds of inventive explanations on the extended name version, such as a reference to the IME number Rain Will Fall with the line 'Four Brothers Make the Mother'. These four brothers are then supposed to be the band members, while Mother refers to the four elements that play a role in the song: fire, water, earth and air - put these elements together, give it some time and you get 'Mother Earth'.
