Disbanded rock group from Atlanta that derived its name from the world famous novel The World According to Garp by John Irving.In that book it is described how the rapists of an eleven year old girl called Ellen James cut out their victim’s tongue to prevent the poor child from telling what the perpetrators look like. This dramatic event inspires a group of women to establish the Ellen James Society; to get through the membership ballot candidates must be prepared to part with their tongues.
