Galaxie 500

Three albums in three years time: that is the musical engine power of this band from Cambridge, Massachusetts, specialized in slow core and dream pop.

For the name the band cast their (perhaps a little covetous) eyes upon the car of a good friend: a Ford Galaxie 500, not to be confused with the Ford Galaxy (with a 'y') that was intended exclusively for the European market, because that is not a full size top model car (the Galaxie with 'ie' is), but a five-door large multi-purpose vehicle or MPV.

Active: 1987-1991, USA
