Over the Rhine - Tourists in their own town

Over the Rhine band name history - Cincinnati-Music-Hall-entranceCincinnatti, Ohio: that is where the band Over the Rhine rises from. It is not possible to simply put a style label on OtR (as the group also is called); suffice it to name a few similar acts, such as Sufjan Stevens, Dawn Xiana Moon, Feist en Patty Griffin.

A town absorbed by Cincinnatti over the years, Over-The-Rhine (note the dashes), was the source of the band name. The village is considered the largest urban district in the United States that has remained almost entirely intact, which explains why Over-the-Rhine is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, citing more than 900 buildings that are historically worthwhile.

Active: 1989-present, USA
