In 1977, when Stiff Little Fingers were formed, the riots in their residence, Belfast in Northern Ireland, were violent, just as violent as the band's punk rock.They started as Highway Star, a name they derived from the song with the same name by Deep Purple. And for their new name, Stiff Little Fingers, they also reached out to an apparently favorite number: Stiff Little Fingers is the B side of a single of The Vibrators entitled London Girls, released in the founding year of Stiff Little Fingers, 1977.
