Not a band name, but the story of this name is remarkable enough to mention here: the later so passionate twister Ernest Evans was looking for a stage name that sounded good. He got help from the godfather of surf music, Dick Clark.It seemed like a good idea to Clark to take up the name of another black artist, Fats Domino. Fats and Chubby match nicely, and so do dominoes and checkers - bingo!
From a musical point of view Fats and Chubby do not have all that much in common, but all the more in appearance.
