Saint Etienne - Frogs vs Rosbeefs

The English and the French are known to occasionally get a bit on each other's nerves.

For that reason the English Croydon-based alternative dance band Saint Etienne being so francophone is somewhat curious – unfortunately however the resason the band chose for that name is still shrouded in mystery.

Nevertheless it's clear that the band name does not refer to the French city of Saint-√Čtienne (with hyphen and accent), but to the local football club, AS Saint-√Čtienne.
