Guess Who?

Guess Who name history - Venice_Carnival_-_Masked_Lovers_(2010)Rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba that started as Al & The Silvertones, later changed to Chad Allen & The Reflections. That name had to give way in turn - because of the existence of an American band that was also called The Reflections - to Chad Allen & The Expressions. By that name the song Shakin' All Over was recorded.

Record company Quality Records thought it would be fun to surround the release of Shakin' All Over with an element of mysticism - 'Are they the Beatles?': so on the labels of the promos sent to DJ's the intriguing question 'Guess Who?' was printed.

The record got a lot of airplay, after which Quality Records revealed smirking that it was not a well-known British Invasion act but good old Canadian band Chad Allen & The Expressions.

Too late! The name Guess Who? got stuck in the minds of the DJ's and to this day the Canadian band is doomed to travel the world announced everywhere by this literally questionable name.
