Stooges

Stooges band name origin - gents-without-cents-larry-fine-curly-howard-moe-howard-1944Originally the band was called The Psychedelic Stooges, but the names Iggy and The Stooges and Iggy Pop and The Stooges were used as well.

The rock band from Ann Arbor, Michigan should not - as various sources assure us - be confused with the comic trio that as The Three Stooges made nearly 200 comedies for Columbia Pictures.

Nevertheless the band did follow up on the capers of the three 'scapegoats' Moe, Larry and Curly, who provided the inspiration for the band name.

Active: 1967-1974; 2003-present, USA
