Cassandra Complex

Band name Cassandra Complex explained - Greek godess CassandraProficient at the genres gothic rock and dark wave, from Leeds and grouped around singer Rodney Orpheus and multi-instrumentalist Paul Dillon, the band chose a name that goes back to Greek mythology. Whether or not this choice was inspired by the equally mythological surname of the vocalist history does not recount.

Anyway, a Cassandra complex is a psychiatric disorder in which a person claims to have knowledge about tragic future events that he or she will not be able to prevent.

Amorous god Apollo gave the prophetess Cassandra her predictive gifts, but after she had rejected him as her lover Apollo made arrangements that no one would take her predictions seriously.
