Psychedelic rock band from Chicago that in 1968 - pursuing contemporary ambitions - moved to San Francisco.
The namesake of the band, the American author Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937), wrote horror stories, fantasy literature and science fiction, texts mostly seizing upon the principle of cosmicism (cosmic horror): the belief that life is incomprehensible to human beings and that the whole world around us must be considered hostile.
We would like to see it differently also, but apparently that is the way it is.
