Searchers - He had to find her

How the Searchers got their band name - John Wayne - John Ford - The SearchersBeat group from Liverpool that had its heyday in the 'golden age' of the Merseybeat, when groups like the Beatles, the Fourmost, the Merseybeats, the Swinging Blue Jeans and Gerry & The Pacemakers led the way in the English charts.

The band name was borrowed from the film The Searchers from 1956 by director John Ford, starring a still relatively youthful John Wayne ('He had to find her').
