Deacon Blue - Looking for a losing name

How Deacon Blue got their band name - loser graffitiScottish pop, rock and blues band from Glasgow, Scotland. These Glaswegians are supposed to have seen their band name in an almost eponymous song by Steely Dan, Deacon Blues, with an extra 's'.

A (prophetic?) quotation from that number:

'They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues.'

Active: 1985-1994; 1999-present, GBR
