Jack's Broken Heart - Gave up

Where band Jack's Broken Heart got their name from - David Fincher - Fight Club film posterFour indie-musicians from San Diego, California that almost instantly took the hint that it is very difficult to break through and for that reason gave up their attempts after two years already.

The group owed the band name to cult film Fight Club by David Fincher, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk. In that movie the voice-over says a number of  'I am Jack' quotes – the quotes in fact belonging to the 'other self' of the schizophrenic star of the film. As if he is talking about someone else, but really means himself. So instead of 'I'm sad' he says 'I am Jack's deflated happiness'.

In Fight Club the voice-over also says 'I am Jack's broken heart' and that inspired the five mayflies from San Diego to baptize their band Jack's Broken Heart.
