Chrysanthemums - Not to be confused with the Eggplant

English pop group that bore music defined as a blend of psychedelic pop, punk and progressive rock, with surreal lyrics that resembled the work of Ray Davies and Syd Barrett.

Explanation of band name Chrysantemums - Hesketh KnoghtChrysantemums are flowers that in England are sometimes simply called 'mums'.

There is not much we can say about how and what seduced the members to choose this band name, except perhaps that the band previously played under names like The Square Pigs and The Eggplant. The first name fell off in the end, the second was used later for the record label that released the music of the Chrysanthemums.

If things had taken a little different twist we could just as well have been explaining band name Eggplant on the Chrysanthemum-label in this reference work.
