The duo shamelessly solicits the favors of Mammon, the god of greed, because the acronym that forms their band name stands for Erick (Sermon) and Parrish (Smith) Making Dollars.
Or used to stand for actually, because for some for us untraceable reasons the meaning of the abbreviation was later (in 1999) changed to the also financially charged name Erick and Parrish Millennium Ducats.
Nice trivia: in the title of each EPMD album the word business occurs (Unfinished Business, Business as Usual, Business Never Personal, Back in Business, Out of Business, We Mean Business).
Each of those albums also contains a track in which the name Jane occurs: Jane, Jane II, Jane 3, Jane 5, Jane 6 and Who Killed Jane? So what about Jane 4? That's easy: Who Killed Jane? was the fourth Jane song.
