Where did Cock Robin get the band name from - book Courtship Cock Robin - illustration Barbara Cooney 1965American rock band from Nashville, Tennessee that was popular especially in Europe.

The opinions differ on the origins of the band name.

Possible sources include a 17th century story titled Courtship, and Marriage of Cock Robin & Jenny Wren (with the death and burial of poor Cock Robin), the book Who Really Killed Cock Robin? by Jean Craighead George and Who killed Cock Robin?, a cartoon from the Silly Symphonies series by Walt Disney (the latter a free, cartoonish interpretation of the book of two centuries before).
