Box Car Racer - The end?

Alternative rock and post hardcore band from San Diego, California. In fact it is a spin-off of the band Blink-182 (see there) consisting of guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker.

The latter apparently is fascinated by the 'end of times' theme, in the context of which he began to wonder if Bible book Revelation may actually be describing the end of the world.

How Box Car Racer got their band name - Aircraft - Nagasaki atom bomb - Captain Frederick C. BockInspired, he chose a name for the project with DeLonge that refers to the Box Car (literally: railway wagon) that put an end to WWII: the B-29 bomber named Bockscar that dropped the second American atom bomb, the Fat Man, on Japanese city Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.

DeLonge came to regret the band name choice, but there was no way back, as so often is the case in matters related to atom bombs.

By the way, the name of the B-29 has nothing to do with the end of the times. Bockscar is a reference to the pilot who flew the plane, captain Frederick C. Bock.
