British Sea Power

Why band name British Sea Power - British naval flagFour men formation stationed in Brighton, although three of the four members are from Kendal (Cumbria). They play indie rock characterized by drawn-out, deep, angular guitar-riffs.

In the name of British Air Powers they launched a few demos, one of which was christened British Sea Power. The title of that track, later reworked to a song called Carrion, was used as the new band name in the end.

Perhaps the band moving from Reading to the coast had something to do with it.

Active: 2000-present, GBR
