The hard rock and post grunge band Creed, originating from Tallahassee, Florida, would initially have been called Naked Toddler.Perhaps it's just as well that that did not happen.
According to some 'credibility' is meant by creed, but it is extremely doubtful that this clarifies the origin of the band name: the group declared that the origin has to be looked for in Pet Sematary by Stephen King.
In that book the Creed family plays the leading part.
